Discipleship Exercise
Please be aware: This is not a test! It is not intended to give your spiritual life a comprehensive score or grade. Rather, the following 132 statements are intended to help you and a trusted mentor discover where your strengths lie as a Christian and where you can further focus your attention to become a firmly rooted follower of Jesus. This tool will facilitate much conversation between you, your mentor, and God so that you may be "thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:17).
Note: If you come to a statement that is sometimes true of you, but not always, rate yourself by what your life demonstrates most of the time. When you come to a statement related to your beliefs, do not rate yourself based on what you know to be the right answer, but on whether it is a way of life for you. Be honest with yourself. We all have a tendency to rate ourselves higher because we do not like to be transparent with our shortcomings. When in doubt, rate yourself lower. Do not get discouraged with these statements as they compare with your life. They characterize the ideal, yet we are sinful beings in need of God's grace and transformation. God will use this to bring about growth in the areas you need Him most.
